I am getting a notification daily of a new "briefing". When I go there it is some news story labeled Briefing by Flipboard. Since I have neither install on my phone I have not been able to figure out how to stop it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Briefing by Flipboard IS an app that's included with your phone. You should be able to disable it from your Application Manager, though. If you want to keep it (it is used by Bixby to display news of interest) but turn off the notifications you can open it from Bixby, tap the three dot button, tap the new three dot button and turn notifications off from there.

I was wondering about this too, because neither "Briefing by Flipboard" nor "Flipboard" show in the apps list or in my apps manager.

Yes it does, you just have to select SHOW SYSTEM APPS from the menu in the App Manager or it won't show. Since this is a 'system' app, you may disable it, but you cannot uninstall (the app will still be in your phone, just not active).
