35% or so at home and 75% to 100% in the car. I've found that I usually don't need full brightness in the car, which is cool. Auto-brightness is off at all times.

Btw, any truth to the rumor that having the Auto Brightness setting enabled is more taxing on the battery then not?

I always thought auto brightness lowered battery kife, don't know if in mistaken

I have been using auto brightness on mine. I never used auto brightness on past phone. This is the first phone I have had that seemed to have an intelligent enough auto brightness that it is not going spastic all of the time turning the screen up and down wildly for no discernable reason.

Well I'm glad I read this forum post, it made me go and have a look realising I had brightness at maximum. Going to give automatic a go for now then try adjusting it if necessary

I use auto and since I took off screen protector the screen just blows me away everyday.

Really is it that good? What if I spent more time during bright light? Won't it drain my battery more by putting the brightness up?

I've been on auto brightness since day 1. This is one of the only phones I've owned that seems to do auto well. It's not overly aggressive (many phones are too dark when using auto in a well lit room). I'm getting great battery life for my usage, so no complaints at all about the impact of auto on battery.

Certainly, if you have the screen turned up higher it uses more battery, and if you are in bright light outside you need to turn the screen up higher than in a dark indoor room. But, we do what we have to do. And, the battery life on the One is good enough for me to afford the luxury of having the screen turned up higher than I might otherwise tolerate if I was really trying to maximize time between battery charges.
