Got the update for Android 10/ One Ui 2.0 a couple hours ago, slapped it on with glee, and patiently looked forward to falling in love with my Note all over again.
Thoughts firmly fixed on finally realising Android 10, and all the joys of what the new interface would bring to my phone. I was ready for potentially seismic earth shifts, or at the very least localised tremors.
Er, not quite.
Having tinkered with it a bit, personal verdict is, yes it's cleaner, and boy is it faster (that alone worth some of those hype points right there) but otherwise I'm like, "what the hell have you done with my motion effect wallpaper Sammy?!!"
Yep, for all the marginal improvements and modernisation, and yes I'll say again, the fact the phone feels so much snappier... I have to ask who the bright genius was that thought it'd be a good idea to remove the option of adding motion effect to one's home screen wallpaper.
Why take THAT away?
Now all anyone has is just a slab as an image on an otherwise gorgeous screen. Totally wasted potential on so much screen curvature and real estate. What gives!
We need to start a campaign to bring Motion effect back, and pronto!

Thanks for the warning. I love that feature and totally happy with my current os. I'll hold out as long as I can

My note 8 on Verizon Wireless here in Massachusetts (not sure what the region has to do with the wallpaper motion effect) but the note 8 on my account still has it but my note 9 I primarily use doesn't have it and I just realized that last night after playing with my note 8 and seeing how much better the wallpaper and display looks with it on. I'm really stumped, how could they be so stupid to remove such an awesome feature like that? The one ui version on the note 8 is 1.0 with Android 9 and my note 9 has Android 10 with one ui version 2.1. I hope they bring it back. I'm pissed!

Your carrier and region would be helpful for those who are waiting.

Waiting for what? And what does stable version mean pertaining to the UI? Does that mean some people who have the updated version still have the motion effect? I thought Samsung removed it... I apologize, apparently I'm not as phone smart as I thought. Damn it.

I'm with you! Just upgraded from Galaxy S7 to S20 FE 5G and am mildly devastated that such a beautiful phone/display/screen doesn't have that option! I live in the New Orleans area, Louisiana and have Sprint/T-Mobile. What can I do to join the movement (besides comment here)?
