If you push on the screen, middle, bottom of screen, with more pressure than what it takes to "click" an icon, does your Note 8 come out of sleep mode?

You can disable/enable it in Settings -> Display -> Navigation bar -> Hard press home button

Yes there is a haptic home button located under the screen there. You can also increase/decrease it's sensitivity and other options under Settings>Display>Navigation Bar.

Yep. I generally do this.

All Samsungs do this from the S8 up.

Yep...Oreo update borked it for me....I've had to add like 10 locations in my small apartment just to get it to work occasionally.

Yes, "smart" lock works just fine with my gear S3 connection but with location it's just hit or miss....mainly miss!

Yes. I had a S8+ that did the same thing.
