broken Glass vs LCD? Which one?

So I see all these $30 glass screen replacements versus the $220-250 LCD replacements. Here's a photo of my phone, do you think it's the LCD or can I just order the glass screen to replace? Here's what it looks like:

Just dropped it from my lap onto the ground after getting out of my car. I drive a miata, so not that much room from my lap to the ground.

Phone is perfectly functional. As in zero touch issues, or anything else wrong.

It is just the glass then, but i dont know how simple it is to fix

He'd have to pull the glass off the display layer, a very tricky process.

Nothing a bit of patience and a fifty cent fender guitar pick can't handle. I prefer the medium thickness for glass replacement and thin for actually playing guitar. YMMV

How did you make out? How difficult was it to replace the glass?

My friend dropped his as well and asked me to fix it for him. I've replaced many on iPhones and other smartphones, but haven't done one yet on a Galaxy Note.
