Broken Images

Recently I inherited my daughter's Note 2 when she upgraded to an iPhone. I moved my sd card to the phone with all images, videos,etc. Most of my images showed up, but there are some that have what appears to be a icon for a broke image. I tried to look through the gallery app and directly through the My Files option, but I cannot see them at all. I am just afraid it may be something that I want to keep which is why I do not want to just delete them. Has anyone else experienced this?
