broken (motherboard issue) TF700T, repair?
i have a TF700T i havent used in over a year due to it being broken, it wont get past the BIOS screen as its unable to access the built in memory that contains the operating system, the tablet was repaired once for this issue as ASUS replaced the tablet and the second one had the same issue.. feeling id just be wasting another $100 to repair it only for it to break again, its just been setting
now i notice i can purchase motherboards myself online for about $35, so with the issue i have, do you guys thing i could bring new life into it, buying a replacement motherboard to replace the old... is there any soldering required with this? any "locking" of certain components to the motherboard or is it as simple as opening the tablet and replacing the old mobo with the new?
keep in mind ive done repairs on electronics before, build computers, so messing with the guts of such devices doesnt bother me.. however if it requires a level of soldering or software hacking just for it to work then its probably not worth my effort
