Broken Screen/ Can't get into Download mode

I dropped my S5 the other day and the screen went out. Everything but the screen works, but I got a hold of a S7 Edge through a friend. I want to get my pictures, etc. off of my S5, but I didn't have USB Debugging enabled and I can't use the touchscreen at all. I know it's possible to access the phone through programs and download mode, but every time I try to put the phone into download mode, it just boots normally. Any tips on how to get my phone into download mode without a working screen?
