Broken screen, questions about data retrieval

I have an S3 and the screen is shattered, the screen is completely black and unresponsive. However, the phone will turn on, and will receive text messages. The phone vibrates, plays the notification, and the led lights up, as well as the lights on the soft keys at the bottom. Phone calls will not go thru. When I plug the phone into the computer, it does not register as a storage device. It reads as a CD drive and then errors out.

I have a ton of stuff (sentimental pictures, etc) saved on the internal storage. Im not concerned with getting the phone back in working order to use daily or anything, I just want to get the data off of it if I can.

How would I go about doing such a thing? What parts need to be replaced so I can get into this thing?

Thanks,
Eric

If your phone is locked computer's wont be able to read it, so that may be why your computer wont accept it.
This will only work if your screen still registers touch, which is an iffy. You can get a hdmi-micro usb cable and connect it to a screen, then try and blindly select options on your phone. Since you cant connect it to your computer this way, you might need to back it up to a micro sd card
