So somehow my Sim card reader busted the other day. I went to the service center in HK and they showed me that one of the threads disconnected. As I got this phone in Canada, they said they can't fix it because the SCREWS they use are different from the phones sold in HK! Are they just bull****ting me?

Nonetheless since I won't be flying back to Vancouver just to fix a sim card reader slot, anyone know where I can get the replacement part?

MODEL: GT I9250M GALAXY NEXUS

apologies for mistype in thread title!

Pretty sure screws are screws...if not though all that would be different is the head. Order a set of tools online and bring it to them in HK.
I'm in Thailand on a Canadian GNex too...hope I do get told the same thing if I need to get it repaired.

Just contacted customer support in North America. I was told that INDEED they use different screws and different parts. I have been told to email them to see how I can be warrantied. I'm not betting on that though. Not very good customer service at this point if you ask me.

They probably mean different screw heads...not different length or type of screw.
That's still odd though.
G'luck

I had same issue and its under warranty, they emailed me back samsung canada and said 30 jus to look at it and then cost to repair and i said its under warranty and there response was its not a known issue and phone was like a week old and i just put in sim card and went to use diff.sim and it jammed. Now i have a 500 paper weight, had an iPhone off.warranty and they gave me diff phone for free. Sad to see samsung people treat us bad.

My experience with returning my first GNex to Samsung for repair (within warranty, too) wasn't so great either. Honestly, for the next Nexus I will be crossing my fingers for a manufacturer other than Samsung. I love this phone but hate its radios and faulty microUSB ports and Samsung customer support.
