I'm new to Android and would like to know does anybody use the stock browser on the inspire or do they recommend another and y? Thanks for any tips!!

I use dolphin hd. It has tabs which makes it infinitely better. You can even switch tabs via the volume button which makes switching tabs very fast.

I tried Dolphin HD and it felt a little gimmicky to me. I love my tabs on my desktop, but on my phone it felt out of place. I don't spend hours surfing on my phone, usually I just want something quickly. I use the stock browser with Chromemarks to import my Chrome bookmarks. Works well!

My recommendation to you is: Install Dolphin, Opera and Firefox. Play with them for a while and see which one is best for YOU!
