BT Connectivity Issues?

I have a pair of BT Bose headphones. I have used them with Note 8 with no problems. I generally have my music app up and play around on other apps at the same time. I have noticed though that when I switch out of the app, the music starts to play on my phone and not on my headphones. And today I had a phone call come in that kicked me out of my music app and instead of ringing on my headphones, rang on the phone. (it would previously ring on my headphones) Does anyone know of a fix for this?
