Does anyone know how to disable buacontactadapter? It is consuming the battery. Al I found searching involves rooting the phone. Would a task killer work? If so which one is the bast.

It's part of Verizon's backup assistant bloatware. It can't be disabled without rooting the phone.

Did you ever do an initial setup of Backup Assistant? If so, even if you never use it, I think it may keep running in the background. I've found that if you never set it up in the first place, or clear all of its data in the Settings/Apps menu, it doesn't activate.

By the way, a task killer would probably worsen battery life, since Backup Assistant would keep reopening, and the task killer would keep killing it. That all takes energy.
