Bugless Beast v1.1 Released!!!!

pipester, which is better bugless or cyanogen. im in the mood to try somthing new for the night and explore a rom. also which one is consistent with speed. or lags the least

OITried BB 1.1 for a day and didn't really notice a difference performance wise between it and CM 5.0.7.1. I'm back running CM now but both are fast and stable at stock frequency and overclocked. For the best experience on either, I'd suggest using launcher pro or ADW launcher. Both are lightening fast and offer a great alternative to the stock or helix launchers.

BB 1.1 kept restarting my droid whenever I'd receive text messages (after a clean install).

1.0, welcome back.

I have tried BB 1.1 but not the newest CM so I'm curious to see which performs better. I don't think I could go to any of them because the overall speed and low temps on both of those roms aren't as good as dominator. What I think I might try is Chevy's simply stunning if he releases the newest update tonight. I don't I've heard anybody try it on here so I figure ill give a shot and report back on my findings.

The new cyanogen is tons better performance wise IMO. Less lock ups and seems quicker.

I switched from BB v1.0 to CM 5071 (w/Launcher Pro beta) and it's so fast - even faster than BB. The default launcher that CM comes with sucks but this one is so fast.

I guess I am in the mood for trying out a new ROM tonight. Jorge, I will take your comments as a good suggestion. Will report back.

I just loaded up the new cyanogen and the new features are openly welcomed. To be fair I put the same theme (Nex/DroTheme) and launcher (LauncherPRO) on both BB1.1 and CM5.0.7. I am running your stock 600MHz bekit kernal on both. I don't see a HUGE performance difference in either build, (In my experience BB responds a lot quicker) but the extra options available in CM kind of give it the edge.

Pipester, I am noticing the same thing. While jumping from CM 5.0.6.2 to BB 1.0 resulted in a huge speed gain, going from BB 1.1 to CM 5.0.7.1 feels the same (and the CM features are welcomed).

Once again, I feel like my phone responds differently than bizz's and Bretts. Dominator always FC's and loops on me, wipe or no wipe, fresh install, etc. I have tried it 3 times, and it just seems more unstable to me. It also doesn't like heat when running the navigation app, as that's where one of my bootloops came from.

BB, however, is treating me fine. 1.1 is a little more smooth than 1.0, although not some great changes (should have really been 1.0.1 I believe). I have yet to enable Set CPU, and my temps are doing fine, and not overheating nearly as much as they do with SetCPU on (for any rom).

Regardless of what is chosen, they are both fast roms. Every phone responds differently (really shouldn't, but these are starting to be as finicky as computers, and we all know what fun that is).

Edit: Haven't tried 5.0.7 yet, but as I don't use a lot of extra "options" included, it doesn't really seem necessary for me to switch over.

I just started using launcherpro vs helix launcher 2 days ago, and man does this thing fly! The developer really knows what he's doing.

i have always noticed that different roms run diff on various devices. my friends love cyanogen, but it runs crappy on my device personally. i dont quite understand how that happens, but it def does.

That's the one downfall with the droid. Since there different sources from where they are built they don't all function the same way. For one, certain droids can't overclock passed 800 mghz

Brett:

Do you mean motorola has different plants manufacturing the phone for them? And that quality among them is highly variable?

Anyone checked the EIN or SN or other numbers on their phone boxes, sim cards, etc that might have a pattern to find the offending manufacture(s)?

thats correct. i dont know why they do this because im sure if they were to get the devices made at the same location it would probably be cheaper for them but then again im not a business major.

the varying quality is prob due to the way one plant puts them together and another one puts it together in a different way. as well as how they make the connections between the hardware like the cpu and chipsets, not that they are different but that they are soldered together might be. the only thing i could use to compare this is pizza. you come to new york and the pizza is amazing but when you get pizza at lets say Maryland it doesn't taste the same. they could have followed the same exact directions and used the exact same ingredients but it just doesn't give the same result. the reason why is because of the water that is used for the dough.

ya its a lame comparison but i hope you get what im trying to say

I think that with LauncherPro running on both it makes them feel the same, I bet if you were to run the "native" launcher on each the Beast would perform noticeably better.

much buggier than 1.0. I had more force closes and random reboots than ever before! I reverted back to 1.0

+1

CM with the native launcher is definitely slower than BB but with Launcher Pro beta, it just flies.

Yeah I am running BB1.1 with NexTheme and the stock themed home launcer and it's moving nicely. Now that I know it's not the rom but the launcher I may go back to LauncherPro. Additionally, Pete should add the ability to change the amount of home screens... 9 is unnecessary.
