Bugs on unreleased phones don't matter

I think its something to keep in mind but not something to take to heart. As well as the phone isn't release yet so I wouldn't be too worried about problems or alleged problems quite yet.

I don't care about the bugs until they're apparent on a phone I'm using.

That article is a definite no-brainer. No need to drum up the rumormill because I'll take the facts over speculation.

its funny to hear how many people are slamming this article when the majority of what we do here on these threads is scrounge and gather bits of info from wherever we can to quench our thirst of info about the devices we want and want to know about. a guy hears from a guy that the phone is coming out the 11th and that training is happening and all these other rumors (until today, not even the training was confirmed) and everybody is hoping and praying that they are true and that these RUMORS pan out. but the second someone posts what could absolutely be a valid rumor, the world erupts into flames, it is actually quite funny. without rumors these blogs would not be here, we would just have support forums for existing devices.

I was specifically talking about the bug rumors... not "this phone will have an app on it to turn yourself into a god and do what you want." It just doesn't make sense to talk up a phone's bugs before its actually released. It should come out the door clean and ready to go... so I just won't worry about it. Its like shipping out a car without brakes. You know that'd never happen so don't worry about it. I do enjoy getting excited about tech spec rumors though, just like everyone else. So as far as this bashing goes you must have misread me.

Why would I care if there are bugs on an unreleased phone. It's not my issue, just more work for some software engineer that will not have a long weekend for a while, lol. Just as long as it is workable when the phone is released, I'm cool.

its weird that your saying only good rumors are valid of discussion. it is absolutely worth discussion. obviously we know the problem will be addressed before release but to what extent? it might be an underlying problem of released phone. you are acting like no company has ever released a product with problems or flaws. your brake analogy holds no water. it would be more akin to hearing rumors of poor braking performance by a reviewer. it is something i would keep my eye on. it may be a great car but if the braking problems exist and to what extent they exist is something i would pay attention to, as it is critical to the cars overall performance.

Well lets be honest when several other Android Forums are getting the same info from different sources & not just engadget you know there is something wrong with Power Management & Over Heating. It's not just something that pops up out of now where.

Moto has a history of building phones with issues & not properly @ least hardware wise.....software we all know has had major issues too but they seem to fix it I suppose.

One last thing to say is for this to be speard around the internet as fast as it did & then during the Moto Confrence Call today they decide to release a statement saying that this issue is a Non-Issue & devices will be released as scheduled. You know what that tells me.....there is a problem & they are working on it feverishly to fix it otherwise a total ignore of this being spread around would say they aren't concerned. I could be wrong but I got an e-mail from a friend saying that the devices do have issues as Moto compromised a few things on the hardware.

Lets just hope this doesn't come to fruition as I wouldn't want to see this give a certain other company(a$$le) more reason to claim android as a second tier or funny option as they keep claiming.

exactly! so why should we not discuss it and keep our eye on it?

Forgot to post these links(Droid Life):

Keep in mind Phandroid has their own take but almost same info & throw in Android & Me has reported it as well, so on & so on etc.

Moto's Response(Droid Life):
A giood point is made though that these issues should be corrected & fixed before release & Moto is on a bit of damage control

Motorola: “There are no overheating issues” with the BIONIC or Atrix 4G - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

As soon as this thing gets rooted, themed and overclocked.. I'll be right out the door and in front of Verizon. As for now I'm happy with my DX the way it is........ .....but then again I'll probably end up getting it the first day it's released. I love new toys.:-$

The article is about bugs. Not specs or what the phone can do. I was just saying it makes sense. To not get your panties in a wad over either. Maybe it will be as awesome as they say. Maybe it won't. maybe the manufacturer's will release it thinking its as clean as can be. Maybe it will... and maybe it won't. I'm just saying whats the point in getting worried about it. That was all.

If it comes out bugged I'm sure it'll get fixed. Is it OK to talk about it? Absolutely! Curiousity always sparks great discussions. Lets talk about it all we want... and see what the end product is ;)

Thanks for making me feel welcome here.

gotcha! to be clear i havnt posted anything on the subject and am not worried at all. i just thought it was odd that a story was done on one of the blogs in direct response to peoples reaction to the story. it is like a double standard and i do not agree with that. good rumors ok, bad rumors bad
