Bump Charging.

I realize we shouldn't have to "compromise" on features to get good battery life, but here are a few things I've done to significantly increase my daily battery life:

Check your battery history in the Dialer: *#*#4636#*#*

Browse the battery history, specifically the Partial wake usage, Total in all time can be enlightening. This is when you think your phone should be doing just about nothing but something is keeping it awake. I found Facebook was killing my battery, and twitter was right behind it. I now use Tweetdeck, so I don't even use those apps anymore, but you can also turn off syncing on those apps or turn the intervals way up. Personally, I don't need to know within 3 minutes if someone @ me on twitter, etc. Basically, find out what is eating your battery and fix it, sometimes it's something you wouldn't expect and didn't expect it was keeping your phone awake 24/7.

Also I use darker wallpapers. Lighter or worse white wallpapers will drain the battery. I use WiFi when I can. I'm lucky because at work I can get wireless anywhere, and at home the same. Since I spend 98% of my life at those two places, I'm almost always utilizing WiFi.

Lastly I bought the Seido 1750 battery. It's the same size as the stock battery so no need for bulkier battery door. It's a nice compromise for retaining the size and gaining some battery life. I have a car charger and the wall charger is always in my car, so I can charge at work if need be. Honestly though, wall charging only really happens at home now. I can easily make it through a long day now, but before these changes the battery life was atrocious. Hope this helps.

Note: I stopped bump charging, I never noticed a difference, and now don't even need to anyway.

Great suggestion for battery history. Is there anyway to create a shortcut to

*#*#4636#*#*

?
