Android Central Question

I have an s9+. Bought upon release (of phone!), back in April.
I use a navigation app, maybe two days per week. I have burn in to the extent there is a DEFINATE discoloration of the screen (to a 'sort of' very pale yellow).
Surely shouldn't get burn-in this soon?

Nop, it should not get burned-in that fast..
I would Bring it back to store and have them check it out ..
You might need another one if it's defected ..
Worst case .. contact Sam ..

Is it full screen or specific spot? You say pale yellow. Any chance it's just blue light filter? ??????

Burn in might not be covered as a defect

My status bar is lightly burned in on my screen, I play too much Pokémon lol. Doesn't bother me much, I'll be getting the S10 in a few months lol.

Sucks that we have to worry about stuff like this. Not only was the phone pricey, but you have to baby it in order to make it last.

My s8 had the screen replaced due to burn in about a year after bought, bottom half of the screen was pink. I don't think it's uncommon, it's just samsung phones most likely will get that issue.

its an OLED issue regardless of the maker, LCD has its advantages and so does OLED but both have their disadvantages on being for OLED screens is still burn in
