Sometime ago, I thought I was able to use a business card to create a new contact without manually inputting the data. I can't find how I did it. I didn't use a 3rd party app. Is it still possible to do with Android 11? Thanks

Google Lens can be used to do that. It will analyze an image of the business card, and then give you the option to add the person to your contacts.

Thanks. But that didn't work for me. Lens Didn't have a business card option, what am I doing wrong?

Strange, it works for me all the time. Within Lens, focus on the business card, and then tap on the name in the image. You should then see an option to add the person (along with their applicable contact info from their business card) into your contacts as a New Contact. Hopefully it works for you. I just tried it again, and it works for me.

I followed your instructions and got a little further bu I still don't see the card option. The text on the card was copied to the clipboard. Maybe I can't hold the camera steady enough. I have version 1.13.201020059

I think I might have figured out what's happening to you, but it's not going to solve your problem...I tried a couple of other business cards that were lying around, and those didn't give me the option to save them as contacts, and yet the original one I tried still gives me that option. It seems to me that Lens works for importing business cards as a new contact only when the business card is formatted in a specific way or certain specific ways. Accordingly, it seems that sometimes it will work, and sometimes it won't, depending upon the layout of the business card you are attempting to add to your contacts. I can't guarantee I'm correct, but it seems to be the pattern I'm seeing. I would suggest you also try experimenting with some other business cards, and see if some of them might work for you, even if others consistently don't work.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to get this to work since you didn't seem to have the problem. Your thoughts make logical sense and I'm glad you hung in there. Some folks would have just moved on, assuming the problem was just USER ERROR.
When I scrounge up another Business Card, I try again. As I said earlier, I used the process successfully. Thanks. I can now hold on to my sanity for a while longer.
