Busy box Help

I don't want to ask a dumb question, but I'm a new Rooter and keep hearing reference to "Busy box".

I have read the app description and its very technical, and was wondering if someone in simple layman's terms could explain what it is, what it does, and do I need it!

Hope it doesn't annoy anyone. Just looking g to learn a little more.

Linux doesn't come with built-in commands, the "commands" are actually programs that you invoke to perform functions like looking at files, listing out a text file to the screen, etc. Since the Android environment is so small, it makes more sense to have a single program that performs all these functions. That's Busy Box. If you want to see all the functions it performs, look at this Wikipedia entry.
