Hello. I just got my Optimus today and from I can tell, successfully rooted it. Superuser permissions are working on most apps. But - I need some help. At the last command: chmod 4755busybox

it came up as: unable to chmod busybox; no such file or directory.

Anyhow, I exited and installed superuser which is working fine. But I tried using CacheCleaner and it said I need BusyBox installed.

First question...did my rooting work? I haven't installed a recovery yet. One thing at a time.
Second...when looking at BusyBox on the market it says it can cause bootloops so I didn't proceed.

Does anyone know if using BB on stock Sprint will cause bootloops? Also...did I do something wrong in the rooting process?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to install busybox from the market without any problems.

You can just install it from the market. Just checking tho when you tried to type it in the command prompt did you type it the way you posted "chmod 4755busybox" if so then go back and put a space between 4755 and busybox. It should be "chmod 4755 busybox"

I re-entered the root commands and didn't get that error. Now the app that was requesting busy box was fine. Now I'm trying to install a recovery and went through the steps...it didn't install for some reason and I'm not able to get back to # through
adb devices
adb shell
$
That's what happens. Am I missing something?

type su

# mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak

I keep getting "failed on....no such file or directory"

**This is for installing the recovery.

Any ideas?

If you were on the most recent update from lg/sprint the file won't be there. You can skip that step. If you want to just double check to see if the "install-recovery.sh" is not there do this in command prompt
adb shell
if it returns$ then type su
ls /system/etc <---in the print out look for the "install-recovery.sh" if it's not there or anything that even looks like it then you know its not in there.
