Over the weekend my phone went int a locked state. I was forced to hold the power button for a very long time. After I rebooted 2 of the 3 keys at the bottom no longer work. the Circle and the Square are the ones no longer working. I tried rebooting but still the same issue. I also used to be able to scroll down from the top and get notification but there are none of them either any more. The only way to get into the setup is to go in through the apps key.

How can I fix this?

Android security patch level: August 5, 2016
Baseband version: angler-03.61
Kernel version: 3.10.73-g909746b Tue Jun 21 22:51:13 UCT 2016
Build number: MTC20F

Phone is rooted.

Thanks

Robert

Sounds like something got buggered up in your OS.
What happens if you reboot into Safe mode?

Do you have a Nandroid image that you can reload?

I have TWPR installed and when I tried to do a restore it failed.

What is the current OS for the Nexus 6p?

I'm on the developers.google.com site and am wondering what image I should be downloading?

The Factory Image or the Full OTA Image?

It's an image backup of the whole OS. For people familiar with root it's pretty common, although perhaps more so on devices with SD cards.

Is this not what TWPR does?

What were you trying to restore?

What are the error messages?

I was trying to restore one of my TWPR backups. I don't remember what the error was at the present time.

What about my other question on which file I should be downloading:
The Factory Image or the Full OTA Image?

When ahead with the rest of my phone. All buttons are working once again. Because I don't want to introduce this issue again I'm re-configuring my phone from scratch.

Thank you all for your replies.
