Buy Nexus 10 now?

Do you guys think the Nexus 10 is worth it at this point? Or should I wait?

I read Google will release a new Nexus 10 this year. Is it true?

Maybe, but it is speculation at this point. Google has not made any announcements. I bought mine a little over a month ago and am happy with it.

Original Nexus 7 announcement date: June 27, 2012 Release date July 13, 2012

Second Nexus 7 Announcment date: July 24, 2013 Reelase date: July 26, 2013


Original Nexus 10 Announcement date: October 29, 2012 Release Date: November 13, 2012.


From the above I think we can expect the second nexus 10 to be released between 11 and 13 months after the original. I suspect the time between Announcement and sale will shink as it did for the 7" tablet.

What you should ask yourself is can you wait 2-4 monts for a tablet? if so then yes wait, if not then buy a nexus 10 now.

Go for it. That's assuming you wont mind if it gets outdated (hardware not software). But if you don't need it asap and have an extra bit of cash I would personally wait the extra 2-6 months for the new one. This is because being a nexus 7 (2012 edition) owner, it kills me to think there is a new version of the tablet I bought less than a year ago. But that's just me

No one really knows when exactly the next iteration of the Nexus 10 will be released, but Google seems to doing a pretty good job recently at sticking to pretty regular release schedules for their OS and hardware. Based on speculation alone, one could guess that new version of the Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 phone will be available right around time for the Christmas shopping season, just as they were last year.

Obviously, there are unknowns...no one knows the exact release date, no one knows if Google will decide to change their release schedule, no one knows if there will be production problems, etc. Also, none of us really know just how much of an upgrade the next version will be

Having said all of that, if I *needed* a new tablet right now, I'd pick the Nexus 10 in heartbeat...but otherwise I'm waiting to see what the next version has to offer.

Is it weird or normal none of the local stores have the Nexus 10 on display? There's for example the Galaxy Tab 2, the ASUS Transformer Pad, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

I think I am going to wait a few months and see what happens, since I don't need one right now, just have never owned a tablet.

Btw, I'm also am interested in the announcement of the rumored new Nexus phone.

Same here. And if the next version doesn't knock my socks off, maybe I can get an N10 at a deep discount as Google and its resellers look to clear out inventory.

I don't think you would get any discount until the next gen N10 is released, and even then, I wouldn't look for it to be all that deep -- Staples just discounted the first gen N7 16GB to only $180.

I don't know about now, but when it came out not a lot of retailers sold it. You can obviously order it directly from Google (which is what I did), but Amazon has them I believe and Walmart sells it as well. Not sure about other stores.

Easy mistake to make, I did something similar to Cxrssi [sp?] a couple days ago. Ho harm, no foul
