Buy the Note 3 or wait for 4??

So most of you will think I am really 'outdated' but I still love love love my Note 2! Past phones, I have been ready in a 1-1/12 to go new, but this phone has been amazing.....With that said, I do Not have to be 'the one' with the newest and best, rather what works for me, and I do use my phone a LOT for business. I do stay updated for the most part and on contract as I have 2 UDP lines and 2 dummy lines, to switch off upgrades to.

I still think the Note 3 is also an amazing phone and definitely upgraded from the N2.....and at $99 vs. the N4 being around $299-350 (on contract) when it launches and until the next generation comes out. I am fine with updating to the N3 and stay one behind.....I too agree that you don't have to wait for accessories and such to show up and bugs being worked out in a brand new model either....

If I could go back to my Note 1, I would.

I don't think you make sense do u mean you wish you had a buggy cos my Note 3 is perfect fast and I get 6bhours on screen time

While the Note 3 is an amazing phone. I would get the Note 4 for the additional features it brings to the table.

Bluetooth skip and rewind controls are flaky/don't work.

Landscape mode screen layout when in the car dock has been stuffed up again.

Every smartphone has bugs, even the iPhone whose zealots claim it is much more stable than anything Android.

I agree, but this is the worst phone I ever had since the Dell Streak. Phone reception is very poor. Camera won't focus unless in bright light. Extremely laggy at most things. GPS puts you off-road.

Currently on the Note 2 and still LOVE it to death, but, don't want to get too many models behind, I was going to go to the Note 3 from my favorite guy at Costco for $99, but he only had black and I use white.....and now he doesn't have even the black in stock and won't get more, now that the 4 is coming soon! My fault, but I guess everything works out how it is supposed to and now I will wait till he gets the Note 4 in white......Didn't really want to pay $299!!!! But I am excited for the new one!

Every single year since the first Note, Samsung has come up with something epicly new and brilliant (unlike thee S devices). So if u want the newest and coolest features, wait. But it's gonna be quite expensive, so if you have a limited budget, there isn't a BIG fault with the Note 3...

We just went onto the EDGE program with Verizon for this reason. The monthly isn't bad, but the cost of the phone outright is always horrid and we don't want a contract.

We went with the Note 3 (hubs got one too) and love it. He came over from iPhone and while I've had both I came over from a straight talk Android phone. We love them and he could care less about all the cool "expected" upgrades and I know enough to root if I had to, but honestly don't care if I have to wait for an official roll out.

The price was good for the EDGE. Out the door we paid taxes only on the phone and they dropped in price a bit so we're paying 30 bucks per phone for 20 months for the device.

That's $600 over 20 months (almost two years). Why not pay $300 with a contract for 24 months? This year is even better, trade a crap phone in and pay $100 for 24 months. That's less than $5 a month....

Your not paying just 600 or just $300 for the device...

You get a discount buying on edge or AT&T next vs a 2 year contract. Phones on the mobile share plan on both is I believe $40 for any mobile share plan on both Verizon and AT&T. On AT&T you save $15 for plans below 10gb and like $25 for plans 10gb and up. So for 15 off each month is saving $360 every 24 months and more if you have bigger plans.

Plus with AT&T with the 18 month plan you can upgrade every 18 months while having to pay it off in 24 Months and on Verizon you can every 30 days as long as you laid off 60% of the device

Verizon edge is amortized over 20 months. If you want to pay it off in 18,just put a a few extra bux a month into savings and pay off the device at the 18 month mark

Got it. It does make sense if you are in that boat. If I wasn't on a grandfathered plan, then I'd consider that option.

Instead, I'm stuck waiting every two years. I have an upgrade, but I think I'll wait until the Note 5. I have a feeling it will be a 6 inch device given what the competition is doing. And I'd love a bigger note.
