I am going to buy a new Note 8, what should I check on a new Note 8? Once I get the phone, other than checking for scratches, LED screen...anything else? Serial number, IMEI?

Is there anything to do after getting a new Note 8?

The majority of your apps should work. I suggest setting up Samsung Pay, it works in more places than Google Pay (formerly Android Pay). Because the Note 8 has the S Pen, you can use Samsung Notes, OneNote, Google Keep, or Evernote for writing notes. I use OneNote.

Oh, I suggest a case. I have a couple of iBlason cases that I like. I'm not sure what else to suggest. The Note 8 has so many nice features, it's kind of hard to single out a few.

5. Run Sidesync once with a PC
6. Activate Find My Phone, Google. Device Manager, or both.

I assume you mean you are buying a used Note 8 if you need to check all those things. If that's the case then make sure you buy from a reputable seller. Not sure what country you are in but here in the US I would recommend Swappa.com as they do check to make sure the phone is legit for you. Still buy from a seller with good ratings and feedback no matter where you buy. Good luck and enjoy. The Note 8 is the best phone available in my opinion.

Not all of them, but I do know Samsung has a factory in Vietnam.

You can call/email Samsung and ask them about the warranty status of your phone by providing the serial number. Some countries have websites for that too, like this: https://support-ca.samsung.com/secaew/consumer/ca/findwarranty/warrantyinfo

Is it possible that the glass is uneven at a dot? There is a dot seems like slight dent at certain angle, more noticeable on black and white. Tried wiping it, I cannot wipe it away so should not be dust.

Will pasting a clear tape on screen remove the oleo when I remove the tape?
