Buying a phone abroad?

Hello,

A friend of mine is going to India on vacation. I believe that the Samsung Note has already been released in that market. Is there a problem purchasing a phone abroad, and using it with our networks (Verizon in my case)? Thank you.

Definitely not Verizon. Verizon is a cdma network and most likely your overaeas phone is gsm. You will want to know which GSM frequencies the overaeas phone supports and see if it is compatible with either at&t or T-Mobile frequencies.
