I would like to buy a verizon galaxy s4 from wirefly to save some money but my concern is the warranty.

At wirefly they say I an just call Verizon and add insurance when I activate the phone.

Verizon support says they only will insure phones they sell directly, not even if it is a authorized dealer.

Has anyone bought a phone from either amazon or wirefly and added the verizon insurance?

Thanks

Wirefly is right.
You can buy a new phone from anywhere and call Verizon to add insurance at anytime within 30 days.
Obviously, if someone buys a used phone from Ebay or Craigslist, it's not considered new and the above doesn't apply. However, periodically, Asurion, the company Verizon contracts with to provide insurance, will have periods of open enrollment, allowing those without insurance to add it.
