buying new phone while still on contract

I'm still in my 2 year contract, but i want to buy the galaxy nexus when it comes out. i know that i will have to pay full retail price for the nexus (i'm prepared for that), but what about my contract? will verizon let me activate/buy this new phone and continue my contract (the old phone would be de-activated)? what are my options? i want to stay in my contract since i'm grandfathered into the unlimited 4G.

please help.

You should have no problem... once you're grandfathered in, that's it. You can switch devices as much as you like... whether its an upgrade or buying the phone at full retail. As long as you have a plan with unlimited data, then thats all you need. Doesnt matter if your old phone is 3G or 4G. You have nothing to worry about.

It only affects if you start a brand new line/account.
