Buying / Using in the UK

Apologies if covered elsewhere - I had a search around first.

Looking at replacing my nexus 6 - Mate 9 is near the top of the list as like the larger screens.

Looking around a bit looks like the MHA-L09 is the one sold in the UK, the MHA-L29 is sold on the chinese market but with international ROM (and significantly cheaper!)

So I have a couple of questions:

Are there any differences / considerations between these two models in day to day use? Such as.......
OTA updates and fixes
Languages and installed software
UK banking app restrictions
Experience of good sellers and warranties for the L-29?

I have the UK visa version bought sim free from Three UK, they are the same specs across region with OTA updates the major difference. North America i.e( USA ) which for some reason all manufacturers think the world revolves around bar Apple get Huawei updates way before Europe and I suspect the wider EMEA region.

If it's not a UK spec variant then probably no UK warranty.

Assuming that it is an official rom and an unlocked model, then updates would come from Huawei.

Think wondamobile do a UK warranty return address no idea how reliable. I also have phone insurance with my bank as a possibility!

There are some retailers that will honor warranty for international models sold outside of their area , but that is done by the vendor. Usually manufacturers will not honor it. You would then need to determine if the vendor is reliable and keep their word.

They are both global versions though. The MHA-L00 is the chinese version without playstore and other google services.

I'm recent new owner of a MHA-L29 in white, bought on ebay for £380 from a seller with uk service centre and 12 month warranty.

Updated today via firmware finder to B181.

Great phone, with excellent reception (previous Axon 7 struggled at work).

That's great! £380 with 12 month warranty is a great deal for the mate 9.
