I'm going back and forth between Note 9 and Max. The Apple adherents are extremely angry on their boards as many want the the big OLED but Apple is squeezing them. Personally 128 gb is just as useful as 256 gb....to me anyway. I'm not going to fill either up. But since Apple is not offering 128 gb the choice involves in effect a difference in price of about 25%. Huge. I kind of like to change phones annually and alternate iOS with Android. I have a S8 Plus now but I'm having trouble accepting that the iPhone Max is worth the 25% markup. One manufacturer, one product and they can charge whatever they want since most iPhoners are pretty devoted. Not me though.

Lmao ikr. Last year my cousin took his iPhone 7 plus 256gb and thru it in the Ohio river. I said "hey I'm no iPhone fan but why the heck did you do that for?" He said "cause it not my note8" I said "I know but dang you could have sold it or donated it" he said " I could care less" smh lol. I just shook my head and said whatever since he does have the money to just destroy phones.

Lol I did try iPhone 7 plus 256gb myself and a lg v20 while waiting for the note8 cause of the note 7 recalls and I still got the v20 but I gave Verizon back the iPhone 7 and they credited me for the $400 and something that I still owed on it when the deep sea blue came out at bestbuy lol.

I currently have the S8 Plus. Initially I was going to get the Note 9 but ehh I actually want to try out Apple again. I'm getting to the point where customization for me is not as huge as before.

LOL at the higher end prices for certain models. The price point killed iPhone X sales. 1400 for a phone? Sales will probably lag with that too.

512gb Note 9 is way better than the 1400 iphone.

I'm half-tempted to preorder one of the new iPhones and see which gets here first: My preordered iPhone or my Verizon Ocean Blue 512 GB Note 9 preordered through Best Buy.

One thing I love about the iPhone is the massive case selection. Just looked at UAG and they have about 50 different cases and colors coming for the new iPhones, Note 9 the pickings are slim.

My wife watched the iPhone keynote yesterday. She has had the iPhone 6+,7+ and currently the X. I was informed this morning that I would be meeting her after work to hit up T-Mobile to grab her the purple Note 9. She was greatly UNIMPRESSED.

$1k plus for any phone is just plane stupidity. I don't care whether it's from Apple or Samsung. And of course if you pay that much for a phone, you're going to want Apple Care or insurance of some form. What's that going to end of costing you? To me, Apple at any price (I have an iPhone 7 for work) is just plain boring. Same OS for more than 10 years now. The days of the iPhone "status" have passed.
I jumped on a OnePlus 5T this year after several years with Samsung's top phones and couldn't be happier. I'll be in the TMO store when the 6T releases.

as a former apple fan I always look at the iPhone launch each year to see if it can tempt me back. the XS max is probably the closest they've come but the price is shocking and the little things such as still not including a fast charger in the box and no longer including the headphone dongle are just ridiculous for something that costs so much.

so I expect my note 8 will become a note 9 but I will read the iPhone reviews with interest

I like shiny, new gadgets. The new iPhones are shiny and new. But I only need to pause and remember a few things about my Google Pixel 2: Android Pie and Google apps work very well with my workflow, the camera is fantastic, and I like the look of the hardware. If I switch to the iPhone, or even the Apple ecosystem, I would be spending a lot of money and probably adding friction to my workflow. So I'll save money and continue to enjoy my phone.
