calendar event notifications

Maybe I'm missing something but is there anyway to have a event reminder stay in the notification bar until the event has passed? For example, creating an event on the calendar, setting the reminder for a week, and having the notification there for a week, instead of hitting snooze all the time.

No there isn't. The calendar snooze function in Android calendars suck.

I'm using Calendar Snooze - Android app on AppBrain to manage alerts. It has some slight problems with Froyo but the developer is working hard to resolve them. It won't keep the event on the status bar but gives you many options for snoozing.

The developer says he will be making additions to the app in the future which may include a widget icon that shows the number of snoozed events. This is something I particularly need and keep pushing for.
