Calendar Issues! - HTC One

Ok, first the issue was that my contact birthday's were appearing twice and after doing some research I tried different things to try to fix it. In the process it ended up adding another duplicate. I unlinked my Google account, which is the ONLY account I have ever had anything linked to, and that didn't work and went to clear the data under calendars and that worked but now there's not even an option to show the contact birthday's on the calendar's!

Please Help Me!
I just found a calendar app (Google Calendar) and widet I like but I just can't figure out how to fix this issue!

I love this phone and don't want to return it but it ends up being one stupid issue after another!

It took time but it fixed itself. I notice it does that a lot.

It fixed itself?! Wish mine would!
Every time I add an event it duplicates it and then I have a clash! This has happened since I tried a new launcher which I have now uninstalled....
