Are there any way to get the icon on the home screen to change the date as the date changes daily instead of always having the number 31 there?

Re: Calender

That'd be a cool thing but I haven't seen a way to do it.

YES! Theres an App called "Today Calender" I think. Its a trial i think for like 2 weeks? I was suggested a couple other ones a while ago but don't remember. Its definitely annoying to always see 31.

If you use Nova Launcher then you can use any iconpack that offers "Dynamic Calendar" feature. If so, the number on the calendar icon will automatically change with the date.

Hold finger on screen to add an app. Then add the stock calendar app to your home screen, and you will then have a dynamic icon.

What gets me with android is how you have to constantly download to get basic functionality. I've used Windows Mobile, Palm, Blackberry, iPhone, etc. You would expect that as newer players join in that they would have the basics and push forward from that joining point.

To many times I need to search in order to make my android work phone perform the way other platforms have for me. I'm not an old fart stuck in my ways that doesn't understand technology. I work in it. Hardwarr, software, networking, etc. Most working people don't have the time nor patience to play with their phone.

I know most people are os defenders to the core on these sites. Kinda like those far right vs far left political groups. I use an iphone for my personal, android for work and windows 8.1 is also used in the home. Android to me is like the different Linux distros. Fun to try until you realize that you need to put to much time and effort along with it simply not working with whatever and everything you need and use from the word go. Say what you will but I myself have learned to enjoy the locked down 'walled garden' that both iOS and WM8 bring. Turn it on, setup and go. Simple
