Call Auto Reject Problems

I've got a Note 4 running under Rogers Cellular in Canada. (The Canadian version of AT&T)

I get the odd annoying spam phone call. So, from my phone app screen, I went in to Settings, -> Call Rejection, -> Auto reject mode -> Then I set it to "Auto Reject" numbers. Then, I put the offending phone numbers in my "Auto Reject" list.

Well.. this does ignore the spam calls. My phone doesn't ring.. But, these calls pass through to my voice mail and sometimes I get bits of recordings like: "lower interest rates" or "you've won a cruise". I wind up having to skip by them when reviewing my voice mail.

I had a Note 2 running under the same carrier. When I rejected a call, it was gone. Nothing went through to my voice mail. But I haven't had this success with my Note 4.

Is there a way to completely kill an unwanted call with the Note 4?

I use the Mr numbers app. I can either set it to hang up on the blocked numbers or send it straight to vm.

This is how the auto reject works and did with the Note 3 also. It basically sends the call to voicemail.

I used to use Mr. Number and it works very well. However, it also leaks your phone number over the internet (at least it did when I was using it) and it is not an encrypted link. If this isn't an issue for you Mr. Number is a good choice.
