I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with 4G/LTE and Wi-Fi.
Now I am trying to enable call barring for incoming and outgoing calls (using the sliders under Phone settings), but it asks for a "password" which I have never set, thus it fails. I cannot even use the "Change password" menu because even there it asks for the "Old password". It cannot be left empty because then "OK" button is greyed out.
It seems to want a 4-digit password consisting of numbers. I have tried pretty much all "generic" 0000, 1234, 1111, 1919, 5555, 4321, 9999 etc. what I have found Googling around the Internet. I have also tried to setup different "PIN" codes and "passwords" for the tablet, but it doesn't accept any of these for as a call barring password.
This happens even after I made a factory reset. My carrier doesn't have any specific "PIN2" password either. They gave me PUK and PUK2 codes but those are 8-digit and cannot be used (they are for different purpose anyway).
Samsung support's (only?) solution so far has been "Please try factory reset".
- No, flight mode is not enough, because I want to be able to use 4G data. That is why I bought the 4G version.
- Yes, the reason I want to block calls is that I have a Multi-SIM, and both my Phone and Tablet ring at the same time.
- No, I don't want to block the calls permanently by calling my Operator every time. And there is a setting in the tablet for this which I assume should function.
