On my note 10 +.
I have somebody calling me with their phone number blocked.
Have somebody else with the phone number that shows like a -1 or a +1 phone number.
I have hit block on my phone.
But when they call.
It still rings.
They start about 8:00 am and call all day.
Is their a program to stop them.
Or does anybody have any suggestions.

Thanks.

A blocked call has to ring once - the callerID comes between the first and second rings, so the phone won't know it's a blocked number until after the first ring.

You can have numbers blocked by some carriers - check with yours. Then it gets blocked before it rings.

I use Youmail for my voicemail and it has a great call blocking feature. Best call blocking app I've ever used.

Reason I have AT&T.

There's an option to silence if they are not in contacts.

Also I think Hiya is a good app to use.

I am out in the country. Got a lot of trees around me. I had At&T for like 17 yrs.

Complained about my phone not working a lot. When was they gonna put up some towers closer than 6 to 10 miles away.
They kept saying hang in there.
We are working on it.
My wife stays 88 miles away from me during the week.
She would try for hours to get in touch with me.

Then she would freak out and call a neighbor which ones are here.
I live in a retirement community.
Most people are weekenders and live somewhere else.

She decided I needed to make a change.
So I went to Verizon a few years ago.

You have to go get a carrier that works

If you have Verizon it is possible to subscribe to Verizon Call Filter. It works well for me.

I've been using Hiya and pay for the premium version which is about $15/yr. It does ring once but does a great job in blocking.
I used to use YouMail which also did great and most times the phone never even rang. I stopped using it because of some bugs and also the inability to add/report recent calls which made it through because of being new spam numbers.

No app is going to block every single spam call. I've used Hiya and it's ok but plenty of calls came through.

Youmail plays a message "The number you have reached has been disconnected" to the spam callers. I have no issues reporting recent calls to their list of blocked numbers.

No app is going to block any robodialed calls - they never use the same callerID twice. And since SIP lines have completely legitimate uses (those are what robodialer boiler rooms use), and have to supply their own callerID, only the originating carrier can stop them. (And aren't about to, because no carrier in a small country with not many customers is going to lose customers who pay for hundreds of lines each. Most of those robodialed calls with the same first 6 digits as your number are coming from overseas.)

+1 for YouMail here as well. may miss 1 out of every 10 robocalls but once added to the spam list no more calls.
