Call Screening Questions

I just realized I had this on my phone and really haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but have a couple of questions. I only get about one spam call a week (so far) so now gotta wait for the next one to try it out.

1. If I answer using screening and it's an recording wanting to sell me something... does tapping on "Report as Spam" hangup the call and also serve the same purpose as manually blocking that number on my Pixel 2?

2. Also many robo calls just hang up when no one answers... how does screening work with these type of calls?

1. I always do both. (But reporting seems to go into "The great Spam Report File in the Sky" - it does nothing.

2. You ignore the call and they hang up. (Nothing can happen until after the first ring anyway - the callerID is sent between the first and second rings. Too bad they didn't opt for sending the callerID before the first ring.)

Thanks but maybe a little confused about your second answer. I assume you mean once you answer using call screening then you ignore and do nothing? I don’t want all these robo calls going to my voice mail so you need to use call screening.

It tells them you are using a call screening offered by Google and then you have a chance to hit Report Spam in which case it tells them to please remove your number from their list and hangs up and marks them as block and report as spam. I've never had a spam call (for some reason I get about 4 every day) get past the message that says to remove my number from their list.
