When answering a call or making a call the person on the other side can not hear me at all. I can hear them fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I did a factory reset with no luck.

Is this a new phone for you? Do you have this issue with only the stock apps installed? Did you recently install a new app?

I bough the phone about 3 months ago used (unlocked) is a T-Mobile phone. Using it on at&t network. It worked fine till about a week ago and I cannot get it to work. Thinking that it might be an app. I did a factory reset on it, but is still the same.

Can they hear you if you turn on speakerphone, or use a wired or Bluetooth headset?

on speaker they can hear me but very faint. I have to be right near the microphone and then they say my voice is distorted. I have cleared the cache petition, and also did a factory reset with no help at all. called att and they said everything if fine in their end.

if I can't fix it my self I might have to trash it, I'm afraid if I take it to a repair center it might end up costing more than is worth.

What about using a wired or Bluetooth headset? If it's still a problem, then it may be a deeper hardware issue. But if they can hear you normally using a headset, then there might be an issue with both the primary and secondary mics on the phone. The primary mic could be completely blocked (e.g., by lint or other residue) or faulty, and the secondary mic (which is at the top of the phone) might be partially blocked. Look carefully at the mic openings and see if they're blocked by anything.
