Calling in about eris problems.

Don't waste your time. I've had issues for a while now and they are over nighting a 5th Eris to me. the first 3 came from emailing. They know about the software issue but they have been told to just keep replacing it. This comes from a friend of mine that works at a cooperate store.

5th? I'd have flown off the deck, then again, I was polite and respectful throughout my whole ordeal. Everyone that I know of (20 or so folks just locally) have all called VZW direct and after the 3rd meltdown, were offered a different phone.

I am a supervisor in a telecommunications field, so I know how to treat people on the phone since I get the flipping out people all the time. I stayed calm but the last lady was rude and after I got off the phone with her, I called back and talked to a supervisor and got some where towards a resolution.

Somdfisher, sounds like you got all the bad apples from several groups at once. At least you were able to get it moving the right direction though.

So got my third phone last night, technically I can recreate the problems I've been having with the first two phones, so it's only a matter of time when i call back in.

So the question is what phone to go with, I sort of want a keyboard I've decide. I work with a guy that just got the LG ally and it seems pretty snappy. Thoughts??

Hey everyone... I just got my 3rd replacement on my eris...the phone is veeeeerrrry laggy and im missing calls i called verizon and told them about my issues and they told me to go to the store and have them take a look at it... i want to upgrade or get a different phone because i am missiing very important calls... how do i go about asking them for a different phone... do i wait for them to offer or should i bring it up my self? any help would be great thanks!

I just told them that I'm getting tired of going through this process and I need a resolution. They sent me an email saying that the only thing I can do is pay full price for a new phone, but what they don't tell you is they have spare phones for replacement. If they say you have to buy a phone for full price tell them canceling service would be cheaper.

Just got an email was told they would give me a curve 2 or storm... ask for a MOTO Droid or incredible I will keep u posted

They said they have no pre owned droids I said I do not want a bb and I would rather switch service she just emailed me back telling me she checked and there are no pre owned devices avaiable and i would have to pay for the one year deal which is not something i can do! any ideas?

I got my droid ordered Tuesday, I doubt they would be out. How long have you had the Eris? I only had mine since May. If you had it longer than a year its harder to get through.

That's how I got where I am. I actually talked to a supervisor after they offered my 5th phone. Stay calm with them while on the phone.

well they just offered me a new droid with a 2year contract... they said they are out of pre owned droids so its $150 with mail in rebate

Ouch. I'd call and ask them why should you have to pay out of pocket and extend YOUR contract based on a faulty device(s) that THEY sell. If they expect the above mentioned because of the fact that they can't provide a refurbished unit, well, at this point I would probably express a *lil* aggrivation. Ask about an approximate estimate on when one might be available. If they can't provide an answer, ask for someone who can.

well i will be getting my moto droid on Thursday!... now I will miss this phone so much i love it but it just got to frustrating... I was very nice and told them over and over how unhappy i was and i was able to get a referb phone... thanks to everyone on here! take care...
