T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Calling T-Mobile users: WiFi Calling

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to get a sample from users that are willing to do an experiment for me. Here's the scenario:

My wife and I both have S8 plus models, both outsourced from the same country, and both on the same build.

For some reason, with her phone, when WiFi Calling is the preference (Settings > Connections > more connection settings > WiFi Calling > WiFi Preferred), if we reboot her phone, it always comes back to home screen with no network. No matter how long we wait it will never establish. It then becomes a reboot fest until it does come back up, which always by the 3rd time it has.

I thought it might be a sim card issue so we went in today and got a new one and noticed it did the same thing immediately. We were advised it's probably just a bug and will get worked out with updates eventually.

"If that were the case wouldn't all phones exhibit the issue?", i asked. "Not necessarily".

Guess I couldn't say definitively, but that seems like an unusual stance to me. Thoughts?

Anyhow!
If any Tmo users would turn there WiFi Preferred setting on, and reboot there phone, I'd love to see the results!

Note:
If you lose network, the only solution is to keep rebooting, that I've found, and eventually it's reappeared.
You need a network connection to get the setting to appear to change it back to Cellular Preferred.

This isn't going to make you happy but I set it to wifi preferred, rebooted and had no issues. Both my LTE came right up and my wifi.

Doesn't bother me at all! Mine is the same way! I'm making no assumptions and just looking for a sample.

I've had my s8 set to Wi-Fi preferred since day 1 because our house is made of limestone and the walls are 7 inches thick of pure stone. Signal is almost non-existent inside our house.

I reboot my phone every morning and I've never had any problem on reboot of it not coming right back on.

Talked her into it, reset her phone and clean installed everything.
Problem persisted :(

Ignore it? Exchange it? Am I being too anal?

I don't think you are being to anal, not a normal issue. If it didn't get fixed with a reset, I would just exchange it.

I ran into that issue over a year ago with a new phone I had back then. Save yourself the hassle and just exchange it.

Just an update.

We also noticed her mic while recording video (and possibly audio for calls) had a digital, almost like feedback) noise embedded in all videos shot.

We went into store and exchanged it out, her new one is showing no problems with WiFi preferred or the audio while recording.

Seems shes good to go!
