camcorder not working since update?

hey all:

i've noticed my camcorder will not work since the recent update from a month or so ago. anyone else having this issue?

camera works fine but if i switch to camcorder mode (or start at camcorder mode), it does not/will not record, then the phone gets all laggy and the app won't close unless i press the return button several times. even after that, the phone lags for every other feature.

a shut down/start up fixes this, but the camcorder still won't work.

any suggestions or known issues/fixes?
