Buying direct from Samsung?

I was considering trading in my Galaxy s24 Ultra for either the 25 Ultra or the 25 Edge. If I decide to do this I'm going to go through my carrier which is T-Mobile and I'm not sure if anybody has done this and had no issues with it? Since T-Mobile will only give me $800 for a trade in and Samsung is $1000, so that's a no brainer.

I've done trade-ins from Samsung direct for years, and also have done it through T-Mo... And at one point it was through T-Mo, but fulfilled directly from Samsung. Never had an issue with either, but Samsung does sometimes take their sweet time letting you know if your trade-in was accepted for the full amount, but so far I've never been denied or received a reduced amount.

I did a trade-in a few years ago from Samsung but that was for a unlocked version not a carrier locked version and that only took a few weeks to get accepted for a full trade-in. I can only hope this could work out for a T-Mobile trade-in.

I've done three trade-in's with Samsung and all were smooth transactions.

I did seal the return boxes with shipping gum tape and took photos of the weight when packed both at home and at the local FedEx facility to ensure that if it were tampered with, I'd have an unquestionable response.

I did the same thing when I returned mine. I took a few videos of me putting it in the box and the contents and the outer box as well. I'm sure I went overboard but can never be too cautious.

Video from Power ON all the way through final box sealing. Also, three years ago I purchased TAMPER tape. I started this when AT&T customers were having theft issues with trade-ins, phones disappearing or being damaged between Drop Off and arriving at trade in point. Sure, overkill, but I don't care!

I've done trade-ins with both my carrier (AT&T) and Samsung.

At the end of the day it all comes down to who gives me the $1000 trade-in on my old phone. And with the carriers if you don't care how they give you that $1000 credit over contract time.

One time forgot which one (I think AT&T) didn't even have to trade in my 22U to get me 23U they were taking a phone as old as iPhone 11 a $1000 so that's why it to use for future trade-in.

We'll see which one will give the best trade-in for the S26U.
