Camera adding stripes to bright areas of pics

Just got the m8, whenever I take pictures with areas of bright light, it adds blue and red zebra striping to the pics. I've tried both stock and Google camera which yield identical results. Please see attachments and advise, thanks!

That is very odd, sounds like a defective unit, are you still under warranty?

Definitely a defective unit. If you just got it, hopefully you can just straight exchange without a hassle.
