Digital zoom is pointless. Hoesntly, take the photo normally. The following three will have the same effect as digital zoom.

1) If you just want to view it.... zoom in....
2) If you want to send it from your phone... crop it.
3) If you have access to a computer: zoom, crop, touch up for better quality.

I agree. What do you need zoom far? I mean you have under your focus options macro and infinity.
What more can you ask for? digital zoom is just going to mess up your photo quality.
