Camera can't choose which lens to use?

Hi, all. Got my Note 9 just before Thanksgiving and have been loving it (upgrade from Note 4). Yesterday, while attempting to take some landscape pictures, the screen started flickering, I could see the light quality on the screen changing back and forth, and when I finally snapped the photo, it was smeary and blurry, not sharp and crisp. My best guess as to what is happening is that was switching back and forth between the 1.5 and the 2.4 lenses. I was in Pro mode but it did the same thing in Auto. Is there any way for me to choose the aperture (thus, the lens) to prevent this from happening in the future?

I would suggest clearing the stock camera cache and make sure the lens is clean. If you still have a problem after that I would take it back to place of purchase.

Adjusting the aperture doesn't adjust which lens/camera is used, it adjusts the blades behind the lens to allow more or less light to enter.

I know when shooting auto the camera will pick aperture itself, there is no way to force it. However if you switch to manual you can adjust it and pick between f1.5 or f2.4. I don't have my Note 9 with me at the moment otherwise I'd provide a screen shot.

I'm curious, were you zooming at all with these landscape shots? I know the phone switches between the telephoto or the main lens depending on light conditions. If it went wonky and was jumping between the 2 it would screw with both focus and exposure.

I was not zooming. Today, I took the time to long-press on the screen to indicate the area of focus/exposure and the fluttering stopped. Good photos again.
