Camera disappointing?

Took one with my son just messing around with live focus. Came out pretty well I think

Is the pixel 4 xl going to be a better phone than the note 10 plus? I'm loving it at the moment and the screen is amazing.

Do Google do mega trade in incentives like Samsung?

Not too sure about the trade in, I usually sell my phone locally because I'll get more and purchase the device. I absolutely do live my Note 10 plus but I can guarantee the Pixel 4 XL will have a amazing camera.

I know I'm not impressed by the images I've seen. However I'm spoiled with the image quality of full frame cameras, I find all cell phone meh in comparison.

The Note 10 camera is definitely a step up from the Note 9. Not even a question.

I guess I buy the Note first and foremost for productivity. The camera is definitely important to me, but I'm happy to have a top 4-5 camera to go with the best productivity device for me. The difference between 1 and 5 is just not big enough for me to care.

So I just got my Note 10+ today and Im really happy with it, but when I tested the camera I was disappointed. My previous phone was S8+, so I tested my note 10+ against S8+. S8+ to my surprise looked better in some photos :/ Also S8+ has more vibrant colors.

Which screen mode are you using?

Fantastic camera. Came from an S10+ and the software seems to be much better. Way better might shots, better dynamic range and exposure. Probably the best camera on a phone I've ever had. It def rivals my Pixel's in pretty much every aspect, including night mode

I'm pretty happy with this camera and I've compared it to my Pixel 3 XL. Now don't get me wrong, Pixel is hands down the best but I'm definitely not complaining about my Note 10+.

I wouldn’t say the Pixel 3 XL is better hands down. Now that Samsung’s night mode is nearly as good as Night Sight, it comes down to versatility against slightly better detail/dynamic range. Both are outstanding camera phones at the end of the day though.

The photos aren't oversaturated. It's the display setting. I keep mine on natural instead of vivid so I can see the actual color of the photo.

Note 10's DxOMark photo score of 118 is only 1 point lower than the highest rated photo score of the P30 Pro and a overall camera score 1 point higher than the P30 Pro making the Note 10's cameras the best of any phone according to DxOMark. That's pretty impressive in my book.

In my opinion, I believe it is. Samsung Note 10 is definitely improved from the S10+ camera but it all boils down to the owners opinion. Everyone had a different one ☺️

Try Gcam. I hate Samsung camera, it can't even compare to Pixel 3 and with Pixel 4 coming out.... I don't know if I'll be able to keep Note. But P4 can be disappointing in many ways too and most likely will be.

Gcam is pretty good in my experience but Samsung’s camera app time launches much faster for some reason >_<

The fact that Gcam (featuring Night Sight etc) can be installed on pretty much any mainstream Android phone with Pie and a decent processor takes a big chunk out of the reasons many would want to upgrade to a Pixel device.

the problem is with moving shots. landscapes, buildings, adults that don't move for a photo, all great. sports/action or an infant it is flat out awful and that's where I have to use the gcam port. I wish we still had sport mode 🤷

What is this gcam app? I looked for it and only found gcam tools which appears to only allow you to put pictures into designated folders. What is the full app name, or a link please?

I have been super happy with my 10 plus which I have owned since launch. Every camera needs tweaks to get the best shot every time. Apple cameras usually grab a great shot most of the time compared to Android devices.
