Camera Flash timing is off. Pictures black. Nexus 6

Nexus 6. Android 6.0.1. Stock.

The flash on my camera works but flashes before the capture. The result is that most of the time the images when using flash turn out black.

What's going on?

Funny, this happened to me a few weeks ago. I usually never use flash, so I don't know if that has been resolved or not though.

Swtiching the HDR setting to where it shows "A" and maybe later shows a check mark, seems to help with this issue.

Thanks, good to know! I'm usually always on HDR+ but that one time I had to take a photo at night outside.
