I just recently decided to test the waters of foldable devices after a few years of wariness over concerns about the crease in the screen and gap while closed, and the screen protector. However; it now seems those concerns have been greatly reduced since the first few generations, and my experience thus far with the Z fold 6 has been nothing short of absolutely pleasant.
The biggest thing for me is the extra real estate in the screen and pretty much having both a phone and a pocketable tablet for work and content consumption. I do Uber and DoorDash as my primary source of work, and being able to fold out the big screen to see more of the order details at once and map as I am getting ready to head to the delivery location is splendid. I can see turns on screen much sooner and don't have to rely on it calling them out as much Also, my job sometimes requires me to collect signatures for certain package deliveries and alcohol deliveries, and this big screen is a big plus These reasons alone are what prompted me into trying the Z Fold 6. I still have my S24 Ultra which I very much still love and plan to hold onto.
Outside display is narrow but not so much as to be a detriment, it functions as a traditional phone screen which works well, and is actually pretty easy for me to type stuff on quickly. I like being able to have a separate wallpaper for the front and internal screens. And while I'm not a frequent selfie taker, being able to utilize the main cameras for that with the outer display serving as a viewfinder is outstanding.
I pretty much spend zero time at the desktop now as my S24U and especially ZF6 have rendered that almost unnecessary. I also no longer feel the desire to grab a tablet as all the applications I would be using there I can do from this thing as well. The main camera isn't as good as what is on the S-series devices, and perhaps that is the biggest reason for holding onto my Ultra, but they are equivalent to the S21 and S22 cameras to me, and that imo is plenty enough now that I don't take as many photos as I used to.
What launcher would you recommend for the fold 6? Does Nova integrate well with it? The current layout with OneUI 7 is plenty sufficient, but I do like to change things up from time to time with widgets and icons.
I got mine in Navy blue and I think it's a great fit for this device, gives it style while maintaining a professional aesthetic.
