On a recent vacation I was taking a lot of video on my Note 4. After my internal memory filled up I got a message telling me there was no room to take additional video and it wouldn't let me record any further. I pumped in a microsd and continued filming saving onto the new memory card. When the microSD was full, I inserted another and it was all good.

However, when I checked my videos on the 5th day of my trip, it was recording to the internal memory and all the pictures and videos from the first 4 days were gone.

I'm pretty sure I didn't delete them myself, and didn't have google+ or dropbox set up so they aren't there (I checked to be sure). I tried using several recovery software programs but didn't find anything.

Any ideas? I'm pretty much posting a last resort before giving up hope. I bought this phone just for the trip and am super disappointed this happened. My model number is SM-N910W8.

Thank you in advance. Any advice is hugely appreciated.

Could the videos and movies have been moved to the first Micro SD card you put in?

I wish, but unfortunately no.

Tried Samsung's support and came up empty. I think the only thing would be to somehow recover the lost files but recovery software such as Dr. Fone have not worked for me.

Not sure but have you tried maybe a Linux based recover software? I have never tried anything like that on a phone. When you go in to your settings, storage, and then Used Space how much is being taken up by Pictures and Videos?

I have posted this in a few other threads and don't know if it will work but you could give it a shot.
First Install es file explorer on phone in settings menus check the box to show hidden files. If option to show more is seen click yes.
Turn off phone and turn back on.
Set up Google plus and choose do back up now. You can then set it to back up over Wi-Fi only or at set times, etc. later.
I turned all the privacy setting to me only so pictures don't get shared and I use it as a photo backup.
Now go to app drawer and see if any of your pictures and photos show up in the photos app (looks like a pinwheel) look through all the dates and see if anything shows up.
This only took about ten minutes for me but if you have a lot of video it may take a little longer. I would do this over Wi-Fi as it will use a lot of data for video, I believe.
Good luck, I found most if not all my lost video and photos with this process.

HELLO !! My Samsung Galaxy Note 4, kept ELIMINATING MY VIDEO CLIPS, within SECONDS of my taking them. Did some research, and ONE OF THE COMMON CAUSES of this very vexing problem, IS... THE SD MEMORY CARD !! Apparently they are NOT ALL THE SAME and quality varies. TRANSEND and SANDISK are VERY RELIABLE... As soon as I took out the SD card which I had put IN, and replaced it with a TRANSEND SD memory card... WELL FOLKS... THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED !!!!! worked like a charm and all my video clips STAY ON FILE and DO NOT disappear in a puff of smoke, as it were.. HOPE THIS WAS OF HELP TO YOU... I was appoppletic with frustration and NOW !! SMOOTH SAILING AHEAD, with very best regards, Michelle Ma Belle
