Camera is it good? Yes or no

You definitely have to test them out yourself but I think the Droid DNA camera is amazing. It's fast and the images come out spectacular. My friends have often commented that the photo's I've taken look professional because of the quality (not that the 1080p screen doesn't help that along ).

I have found my thunderbolt, which recently died, took better images that looked a lot more stable... not as blurry during rapid movement. However, the DNA takes photos MUCH faster. Maybe half a second to capture, save, and it's ready for next photo. Whereas even without photo preview enabled on the thunderbolt, it still took a good two seconds to ready itself again. That said however, I think the camera on the DNA consumes way more battery. Even off the charger all day, just taking two photos without flash will put the camera right below the display when listed for battery consumption.

I guess I kind of teeter on the "marginal at best" crowd.

Just my opinion...on default auto settings it takes great outdoor pictures especially when there's sufficient light. Otherwise, I find indoor shots to be fair to poor in terms of sharpness dependent on lighting. It doesn't replace my point and shoot, but it's good enough in a pinch. I also find that the camera interface isn't really intuitive (see "where's the macro mode?" above) in terms of fiddling with the various modes and manual settings. Then again my assumption is that most people are going to use Auto most of the time so that's probably why HTC didn't really focus on the manual aspect of it too hard.

If camera is showing up at the top of your battery history after two shots with flash then something is askew on your phone. I spent 10 hours at sea world the other day, snapping pictures and recording in 1080p almost entirely throughout, and not only did my phone still have 30% battery left when we left (it wasn't fully charged when we got there) camera was still only fourth or fifth on the list under browser, android central, screen (I had it on auto brightness and the sun was blaring) and a few more of my most uses apps.
