Camera lens zoomed in?

Ok so I love this phone especially the camera. I'm not an expert photographer by any means but I do take a lot of pics. Lots! I have noticed that the camera seems too zoomed in when I out stretch my arm to take say a selfie. I like to use the voice option to snap the pic. I know there's a selfie camera and all but sometimes it's nice to get a great quality picture selfie with my daughters or friends. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I'm not finding? I'm attaching a few examples.

Not sure what the focal length of the g4 is but the g3 is 3.97 mm. Check the photo details to see what the focal length is. Selfie camera is wider at 1.8mm.

Yeah that is more zoomed in than my g3. Maybe LG wants to make us use the Selfie camera more. I will experiment with it when I get it probably tomorrow.

I came over from the Samsung s3 and thought it took pretty good pics. Just checked the focal length of a couple pics that were in my SD card and it says 3.7. Definitely a big difference.

The front camera is 8MP so you will still get a good picture using it, just turn off the beauty mood. That adds a soft blur.

Yeah i dont mind the front camera and I like the beauty feature. Love it actually. I was talking about the back camera. It's too zoomed in. I wonder if there's a way to ask lg to change this and it can be fixed in a future update.

The focal length is fixed in the camera. It cannot be changed. If it could, we'd have optical zoom instead of the craptastic digital zoom that all cell phone cameras use.

I know how you feel though. I don't take many selfies, but when I do, I use the main camera on my G3. The front facing cameras always suck. That looks not to be the case with the G4 though.
